Corrections Policy
Accuracy is the foundation of our reporting. When we get something wrong, we fix it — and we make the fix visible.
How to report an error
If you believe a story contains a factual error, tell us. Email the editorial team at editorial@thefundingtimes.com or use our Contact page. Please include the article title, the specific statement you believe is incorrect, and any source that supports the correction.
We review every report and respond to substantive corrections requests.
How corrections are displayed
When we confirm a factual error, we correct the underlying text and append a dated correction note at the bottom of the article. The note states what was wrong and what was changed. We do not erase the fact that an error occurred.
A correction note looks like this:
Correction (Month DD, YYYY): An earlier version of this story misstated [detail]. It has been updated to [corrected detail].
Updates vs. corrections
A correction fixes something that was wrong when published. An update adds new, accurate information that became available after publication — for example, a lender confirming a deal that was previously only reported by other outlets. Substantive updates that change the meaning of a story are noted with a dated update line so readers can see how the story developed.
What we do not change
We do not silently rewrite history. Minor typographical fixes that do not affect meaning may be made without a correction note. Any change to a fact, a figure, a name, or a conclusion is handled as a correction or update and is disclosed.
